Tumuli by Aaron Messier

This is the debut album of the project Tumuli, a collaboration between Eric Bestul and Aaron Messier both of Iola, WI. Blending the world and medieval string instruments of Eric Bestul (some of them custom made by him) and the electronic music of Aaron Messier this collaboration has created something quite unique. It has a focus in ethnic music and musical traditions of old, mixed with a more modern electronic and ambient electronic element. The entire concept of the album and the music around it is very based in experimental elements as well. The music invokes quite an atmosphere while also really bringing forward quite a tapestry of interweaving sounds. We are very pleased to present this project and we thank you for listening.

I have been recording music since 2010. I tend to record and have an interest in a multitude of genres but most of my music sits in the electronic space. I tend to be highly experimental and avant-garde looking to mix the expected with the very new and unexpected. I always want to move forward so my albums also tend to vary greatly from one to the next.
