I found my goldfish
floating upside down
in spite of all the care I gave to keep my pet around.

My room was never
clean when it was alive
it makes me think that if I kept it neat he wouldn't have died.

Flushed him down the drain.
Life is so insane I think I'd like to try again, please.

Ghosts are in the sky!
I've haunting precognitions.
Death is so close by!
And whispers admonitions.

I am just one guy
and that's about as much as I can take.

People drop like flies all relative to my room.

They found her body
crinkled up in a car
in spite of all the drives we took freewheeling through the dark.

My grades were never
good when she was my friend
It makes me think that if I kept them up she wouldn't be dead.

No one can explain
why life is so insane.
I think I'd like a receipt, please.
