No Quarters from Vector Anomaly by Adam Johan Bergren
Using a variety of harmonies evoking Spaghetti Western Music (like borrowing chords from Amajor while in Eminor, and combined minor/major, etc.), I ended up making something that sounds like a Ween-infused psychedelic modern but retro western theme song.
The Last Stand prompt inspired some thought around all-or-nothing situations, and led me to the phrase "No Quarters" as the order to take no prisoners (i.e., they'll be no quarters given to survivors, hence there can be none). I used this idea, but rather that a battle scene of forces, the battle is internal (which is often the most towering thing we face). Like the psyche battling with itself to resolve cognitive dissonance that might result from old demons, or even just living in a society that holds vastly different values, which can feel hollow. Thus, myself surrounds myself, with "no quarters for me." I used some choirs, a mellowtron emulator, gongs (I think it evokes some Gamelan-type of noise), and guitar, along with my own vocals robotized. It was a ton of fun to make!
