Lyrics
No garden blooms without care
Even the most resilient plants cannot exist on their own
I woke up one day and saw that a garden had formed around me
Each plant a marvel
Each shape a spectacle
A calming breeze gently blew
A small sun beamed down
I loved the flowers for what they appeared as
I saw health
I saw beauty
I saw happiness
The stems were a verdant green
The petals dazzling yellows, shining purples, and piercing blues
I sat in the middle and I basked in this amazing landscape
My own little world of perfection
Until the ground started to shake
The breeze began to whip
The sun became a dull grey
The pom pom and star shaped petals wilted and turned to dust
Fires and ash burned through the greenery
Until all that remained was a cracked patch of earth
My garden was ruined
White hot tears stream down my cheeks
My wails are only stopped when my throat closes
My heart pounds against my chest
I kick at the door
I slam against the ground
I punch the dirt
But this does nothing but cut my knuckles and turn my voice hoarse
In the middle of my blurred vision I spotted something.
Something sprouting from the ground
As I look a tear falls from my cheeks and onto the sprout
A new leaf grows.
Another tear another leaf
Another tear another leaf
Another tear another leaf
No garden is alike
Some contain the desert plants that scratch the skin
Some contain sunflowers that scrape the clouds
But every one is unique and deserving of care, tenderness, and most of all love
No garden blooms without care
Even the most resilient plants cannot exist on their own
The gentle caress of the breeze
The warmth of the sun's presence
The water of a gracious gardener
Combine to give the garden
It's worth
It's beauty
It's bloom
