Plays Diffspring by Sidewards Ebb
On Plays Diffspring, Sidewards Ebb resynthesises punk rock/pop fragments. Each track is a live take with a modular synthesiser processing two short frozen samples. Scanning through these, adjusting the harmonic depth of resynthesis and applying other effects contorts the song fragments into barely recognisable, lurching hauntologies.
Sidewards Ebb, also known as Net, is a sound artist based in Tampere, Finland. He also curates the tape label Bivalve, releasing a diverse selection of experimental music.
