BRIDGES III by Ægir
On December 16th, 2023, I got an incredible and inspiring group of musicians from different corners of the Reykjavík music scene to play with me and celebrate the release of my last album BRIDGES II.
BRIDGES II is just over ten hours long, so I figured it would make sense to play a release concert that would cover the same amount of time.
I played roughly from 13:00 to 23:00, each hour with a different person or group of people. We did not play the material from the album being celebrated, but rather stepped into its world and built a new one within it.
Though this album was recorded in a live setting, I do not see it as a 'live album'. It is a new recording of a new music that took place in a particular space on a particular day.
