洗米 (Washing Rice) from Textures by Flora Wong
洗米 (Washing Rice) is a meditation on the act of washing rice in preparation for cooking; something I have done since I was very young.
I have always enjoyed the sensation of dipping my hand into the cool water and feeling the grains of rice move through my fingers.
It is a ritual that makes me feel closer to my mother, my grandmothers, and all the mothers before them who prepared rice daily to nourish their families.
