Mentions:
My life partner Nicole - for giving me someone to write happy songs about, for offering an artistic ear, and objective criticism that has shaped so many important decisions I’ve made, music and non-music, and for your patience and resilience through the occasional, un-scheduled recording session, or past-work-hours session when you were kind enough to give me some extra space to get some ideas down. Some of them come without warning, and they wouldn’t exist on this record if it weren’t for your grace and understanding in this whole process. This record (or really my career) wouldn’t exist without your emotional support and encouragement to keep going.
My parents - 6 years ago, I was caught in a rough living situation, and they helped pull me out of it. It was meant to be temporary, until the world shut down, and I ended up staying for about 2 more years. They were kind enough to accommodate not only me, but also my makeshift recording setup, where I was able to record the majority of Rivers, Waterfell, and part of Oceans. Thanks Mom and Dad.
My sister Amy - for always challenging me, pushing me out of my comfort zone, and encouraging me to read a book that changed my life and led me down this rabbit-hole of water-based metaphors.
Christian Orellana - I would not be mixing if it weren’t for you. Or at least not the way I am now. Learning this from a friend who is such a natural teacher is one of the greatest gifts I’ve had in my life. Thank you for not only helping me get here, but helping me when I got stuck (e.g. mixing the drums on Flood Gates).
Cara Harbinger - for inspiring me musically, and giving me musical momentum to pick this record back up after a long time. Writing and producing with you is effortless, and it reminds me to search for the joy in music-making, and keep that idea the center of what I do now and in the future.
My friends who would call or text me out of the blue, to let me know they were listening, or let me know that my music had some special place in their life. This meant the world, especially when things got tough and I was looking for motivation from anywhere. Thank you so much Andy Wyman, Derryk Williams, Jacob Kerzner, Hillary Speck, Greg Neidlinger, and Marshall Scott all for being lighthouses.
Robert Clark and Matias Mango for your generosity in allowing me to share your gorgeous artwork on this album. For people who haven’t seen your artwork, I’m hoping it will leave them as inspired as it left me. Your art also helps make that first impression for those who haven’t heard my music before, and for that I can’t thank you enough.
