Stolen Weapons by Nalchik Aerodrom
Stolen Weapons EP by Nalchik Aerodrom, a duo consisting of me and Nick Lepsky. It's got 70s metal, it's got prog metal, it's got industrial elements, and it covers the general social illness we experience in the western world.
I started working on this with Nick Lepsky in 2021, and while things progressed super slowly, it's also the project I've put the most effort (and money) into.
In fact, it's been so long that over the span of its production, the themes of "War, Encore" seemingly shifted from being about the annexation of Crimea to the Russian invasion of Ukraine to the ongoing genocide in Gaza - it has been a sobering realization that the capitalist war machine never rests.
I feel like, compared to other things I've made, this has a lot more going on, and has more of a 70s rock edge to it.
I'm grateful to Jonathan Lindell for his talented drumming on "Mercury in My Ears", "All for Naught" and "Let Me Walk Through the Door" and Norbert Leitner for mixing the tracks professionally. I have learned an insane amount because of these people's contributions. It's been a long time coming.
