Dirty feet, windows open / Letting in that nighttime breeze
Muscles sore from pulling weeds / Tired from the summer heat

I don't have air conditioning / I don't have that much to lose
I traded one thing for another / I know it's not what you might choose
But I wouldn't have it any other way

My fingernails tell of dirt / My third day in this thrifted shirt
Sunlight doesn't cost a thing / And if you think I haven't earned it,
I don't give a damn at all.
I'm far too busy giving it my all

My rusty car is held together by Bondo, tape and twine
But you know, I still get around / And my canoe fits just fine

It doesn't have air conditioning / Auto transmission or bluetooth
I could trade it in for another / But I'd still have to follow the same rules
I wouldn't have it any other way
