"feel" is an affirmational love letter to Sensitive Black women just like me:
I wrote these songs for sensitive people like me.
For people who feel behind in life.
For people who've been told that their sensitivity is a flaw.
For people who have been told to "stop being so emotional".
For people who have tried to suppress their fire, their love or their excitement out of fear of judgement or abandonment from others.
For people who cry at beautiful music.
For people who get angry in the face of injustice and harm.
For the artist, the activist, the teacher, the friend.
Your sensitivity is a gift that can change the world.
Your vulnerability helps others feel seen.
Your bravery is contagious. It gives others permission to be sensitive, too.
