Karahan Tepe by Alex Ringess

-11,000 BC, in the region of Anatolia, on top of the fertile crescent, tribes of the region began to make the habit of having an annual meeting at the place called today Karahan Tepe.

They did not leave us any written traces that could give us elements to understand what they were doing in this place, but the archaeological studies has already made it possible to determine that the megalithic site was not built during the neolothic era, but one or two millennia before, during prehistory.

The humanity of Karahan Tepe is still made up of nomadic hunters/gatherers. Nomads who settle down once a year to celebrate, we assume, a cult of Elders and fertility. And once the celebrations were over, the tribes dispersed again.

At each of these meetings, the site was built. It therefore took years, perhaps even decades, for it to reach the extent that we know it today.

This album tells the story of this epic moment when humanity begins to move towards civilization.
