The approach of the eve draws the girls to the fire
On this the most blessed of days
The veil at it's thinnest as dark o'ers light
Thirteen sing around fire ablaze

FIRE'S FLAME THAT BURNS SO BRIGHT
BE A BEACON ON THIS NIGHT
LIGHT OUR PARTH TWIXT LIGHT AND DEAD
SO WE MAY SEE WHAT'S NOW AHEAD

Mugwort and Mullein their scent fills the air
Eyes touched with drops from the rain
Amarinthine sky licking with flames from the fire
The coven it circles again
Braids leap and skirts twirl as a bird taking flight
As they sing to the Goddess again

BLESSED CRONE OF MOON THAT WAIN
HONOUR AND INVOKE YOUR NAME
MOURN YOUR KING LAID IN THE EARTH
AWAIT THE TIME OF HIS REBIRTH
SACRED DARKNESS BLESSED NIGHT
THINNING VEIL BY CANDLE'S LIGHT

Black ink on water the candles lick flame
No reflection returned to the seer
The mists as they part shapes they're dancing about
The voice of the ancestors near
The gift of the future the curse for to know
Speak not of the sight that's foreseen
The sight as it passes all bonded away
The magick of Samhain this eve

BLESS OUR SIGHT WHAT WE SHOULD SEEK
BLESS OUR WORDS WHAT WE SHOULD SPEAK
BLESS OUR HEARTS YOUR LOVE WILL GROW
BLESS OUR THOUGHTS WHAT WE SHOULD KNOW
THE THINNING VEIL THE SIGHT IS CLEAR
THE DEEDS FORE-COMING ALL THIS YEAR
THE WISDOM THAT IS OURS TO SEE
FOR ALL OUR DAYS SO MOTE IT BE
