Unafraid to explore new musical territories, Ambassadeurs' Higher / Rapture is stylistically removed from the stripped back approach presented on his recent Halos EP while still retaining the signature aesthetic of his productions.
Incorporating broken beat 808 kicks and deep brooding basslines - Higher builds on an eerily warped vocal sample before taking listeners on a journey culminating in a full on synth drop. Rhythmically evolving throughout, the track is ethereal and dynamic with the synth layers and bass interplaying and dropping back throughout the peaks and troughs.
Rapture continues the nightclub vibe with a driving emotive minor chord sequence carrying the track. The breakdown sees it drop out to momentarily turn mellower with pitched up vocal snaps coming in before arpeggiated synths build back up into the beat with wonderful flourishes from 8 bit synths
