“Gold” is the tenth movement of Wavelength 580, and it is among the most aggressive and angular movements. Bottled up anger towards materialism manifested as these outbursts of sheer note density and volume, all while wishing it was easier for a world to figure out what really matters more than gold.

Amber Schnake is a composer, percussionist, and multimedia artist from Overland Park, Kansas. As a lover of plants and nature, their work makes frequent use of patterns and simple ideas that unfold gradually. She aims to use music to create environments and stories inside them, hoping to communicate her experiences of being neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, and a human living in the 21st century.
