Bought on Charing Cross Road in London, late 90's I think. I came into a couple of hundred quid and immediately went out and got this guitar. At the time, if ever I came into any extra money, it was ALWAYS spent on musical instruments or recording equipment. I could have been sensible, but music always triumphed over fiscal rationale.

I wanted an acoustic guitar that I could plug in instead of using microphones. So this acoustic with pickup and EQ seemed perfect for the job. BUT the problem I have found from the outset with almost ALL acoustic guitars with pickups, once plugged in, have a fairly terrible sound. They just don't sound 'authentic', they have a weird plastic sound, a terrible string intonation and a resonance that is only suited for the singer songwriter found in coffee shops and pubs...on a Sunday lunchtime.

I always want a quick, fast and fuss free solution when recording, but seemingly, there is no easy way to getting a good acoustic sound, it has to be a mic for me.

Anyway, this Fender is a solid guitar and great to play. There is a chip on the neck which I still lose sleep about. Caused by a fellow axe woman who dropped their guitar on it in the studio. I can forgive, but I will never forget.
