"EXILE" is, behind a curtain of smoke and floodlights, a glimpse into the primordial R&B, easy-listening and soundtrack-twisting in the DNA of the vaporwave genre. Filed under Clean Slate's Crownplaza project (one of the psyches explored through ANGEL's "ARIAMIS" imprint-commune), the album was developed in a rush of quick slices and concepts, kept rough and unmastered to retain the purity of the studio environment. Stutters and cuts, concert-hall echoes and dreamlike shifts between loops and settings give the tracks a narcotic, lucid-dream quality, looking inside the mirage of the empty lounge for a deeper inner luxury.
