Vacant is a breakup song. I wrote it a few days after my ex-partner and I had broken up. I was so empty and devoid of positivity. The song goes through my thoughts of guilt and pain. I didn’t want to ever feel anything again, I wanted to just stay hollow, hence, “Hollow out my skin and bones, I’ve wasted them.”
