My folks came from the East end in the days before gentrification / urban renewal, and couldn't wait to move out of the area.
But for whatever reason (maybe happy memories of visiting my grandparents' house as a kid?) I always felt drawn to the neighborhood and parts further East, much more than the West end of the city.
And over the course of decades spent in the city, had many friends, jobs and music gigs far East of Yonge street.
As well as girlfriends - including a Malvern Girl.
