Another Life by Another Life
ANOTHER LIFE is the debut studio album by Another Life, released 12 June 2007. The album's sound is primarily rock but it shows elements of heavier genres such as hard rock and heavy metal in some songs such as "Wash Away" and "Falling Down". The album is considered to be more straightforward and commercial compared to their other releases.
Writing for the album began in late 2006 almost instantly after guitarist Rob Fairclough left the band, singer Tom Taylor wrote the lyrics for "A New Beginning" and "Falling Down" later that same day. Despite already having a number of songs, these were mainly credited to Fairclough, so the band opted to write new songs that resembled them as the new four piece. The only songs to survive from the old catalogue were "The King Of Dread" and "Another Life".
Recording took place between April and May 2007 at Steve Smith's home studio, then known as Colossal Studios and released through his own label, then known as Colossal Records.
