Five Figments by Avi C. Engel

Not really an album, and none of the tracks are songs in the conventional sense - this is more a series of figments that I found interesting enough to share with you all.

This recording features my debut on the chalumeau, a reed instrument that is a precursor to the clarinet.

"In the Swamp" is both a tribute to wetlands near where I live, and a response to hearing about Ed Yong's "Spoonbill Club," a birding group for people living with long covid.

"Familiar" is for my non-human (or more-than-human) friends.
