Acid Synthesis by RAIM
Debut release from Maltese duo RAIM – a new project of deep slow-mo acid techno from the combined minds of Acidulant & Stimulus Timbre. The pair met at an underground garage in their hometown on the Mediterranean island of Malta, where they would gather with friends to listen to records from Europe and the UK – the likes of Warp Records, Rephlex , Planet Mu, UR, and R&S.
On an island where even the water is imported, sourcing analogue music equipment is a drawn out and expensive affair, but the pair were determined: this, their first release, is completely written on original Roland TB303, TR606, TR707, SH-201, alongside a selection of other hardware.
Remixes come from Balkan label bosses Posthuman and Altern8’s Mark Archer, both who have played numerous times alongside the Maltese crew in the sunshine.
