Double Alaska by Ben Seretan

In the summer of 2013, I spent some time in southeast Alaska. I played guitar in an old steam power plant for a certain number of hours each day. I recorded a few of these sessions, and layered them together here.

"Dusk and the earth and day sea
brights are slowly undressing. Clouds sip the sap of the tide, leaving salt fresh for the shore betrothed spruce root. In the breakers a canticle of sounds. Teenage whale smokes the cantaloupe moon, sending warm islands of breathe across Sitka Sound (rogue waves).
Ahoy, lean out. All beings remain true out dancing in the crave where we are born. Birds, blue on onyx rocks, linger out, bawl to us to get lost and live (muddy offshore)! Ahh, the creaturely air lounges over the beach pea. Wild fragrances of lilac and fish speak. Eye to eye in a depthless wooze. Here, in the bowering licks, an exact thirst finds heart-conjured home. So
Stay together. Stay listening with the birds in the blossoming dark liquids : veer!
Patience casts unearthly spells.
The following loam dreams through you, our bowering wait.

Now early morning stars comb the indigo outback of your velvet hair. She leaves you willowed penultimates in the candlelit pews. How the wild frescos of your palms ignited every sense. The flame rivers on. And I have every breeze
To share with you
Since the rain won’t stop
Growing in the wind
Of the mountain’s gasp.
That light, tropic and carved of magma, whittles the swell. That light, everywhere,You want to put it in your mouth and watch it go."
