Over the past 15 years the Danish/American duo Billow Observatory have developed their unique brand of ambient music that is both experimental in nature, yet welcoming and accessible. "Kiyosumi" (Japanese for "clarity" or "serenity") was directly inspired by a visit to a Japanese garden, and the duo even incorporated a field recording of the garden's small stream into the track. The first taste of the Billow Observatory's forthcoming "Calque EP", "Kiyosumi" opens up a mental space where the listener is free to wander and find peace, without any imposing emotional content.
Billow Observatory is a trans-Atlantic duo consisting of Detroit's Jason Kolb (Auburn Lull) and Denmark's Jonas Munk (Manual). They have been working together since 2006.
