"Shapeshifter" is a fine slice of 90's alt-rock with a country blues edge. Thematically it explores the difficulties in navigating a cisheteronormative world, but does it in a mostly upbeat and triumphant way. It's a record about heartbreak and struggle, but community and friendship too.
