Terra Ignota by Blood Quartet & Dongyang Gozupa
Blood Quartet (Barcelona) and Dongyang Gozupa (Seoul) join forces as a septet to create Terra Ignota, a musical project that transcends borders and genres, creating a science-fiction-inspired sound universe where Korean tradition intertwines with alt-rock, free jazz and ambient atmospheres.
Terra Ignota blends traditional instruments, such as the yanggeum (Korean dulcimer), with Mark Cunningham's trumpet and Blood Quartet's cinematic narrative. Improvisation and the exploration of cultural origins are the driving force behind their musical and visual creation.
The result is a sensory experience that combines electronics, analog instrumentation, and visual scenography, creating an imaginary folklore that blends traditional Korean music with avant-garde rock and abstract sound exploration.

Blood Quartet was formed in early 2015 in Barcelona from a fortuitous collaboration between NY No-waver Mark Cunningham (Mars, Don King, Raeo, Convolution etc)and Catalan experimental underground noise-rock trio Murnau B. A cassette, Dark Energy, appeared later that year and in October 2016, their first full LP, Deep Red, followed by Until My Darkness Goes in 2018 and Root 7 in 2022,
