The horsemen you been calling down are finally on the threshold now.
If the word out there's the sound, then it's a darkened door indeed.
So you hid yourself beneath the floor, like the question ain't been asked before.
Well I can't see the motive for the things that you believe.

And in middle age the bible belt has finally got you figured out:
Just act like it's a thing that we all know.
But Jesus Christ says, 'Man, I was was born to run, not do these things you wanted done,
but walk on water once and folks can't ever let it go.'

If you ain't got the time to lie to yourself,
How you gonna pull the wool over anyone else's eyes?
So, let a little bit of that pride go.

If you ain't got the time to hide yourself,
From the you you set to the back of that shelf,
Maybe you could try to let a little bit of that pride die.

So I wonder how you rectify the action with what's justified,
When the other cheek, it turns your stomach too?
Do I turn my head away and laugh, or offer up the epitaph,
When damnation and that judgment come for you?
