2020 Donuts by Boca 45

After selling out every batch of the 300 exclusively baked Donuts dropped throughout 2020,
Bristol’s 45 connoisseur Boca 45 AKA Scott Hendy is going for a slam dunk with his next
release.
On 6 th November, he’s releasing the whole collective goods.
12 of the freshest, hip-
hop sprinkled tracks featuring some of the biggest names in the business. The 2020 Donuts
project is coming to a close with one of the most innovative, soulful and downright likeable
LPs of the year.
Collating the exclusive vinyl-only releases since January, as well as some brand-new, never-
before-heard singles, Boca is providing a full-on masterclass of production, grooves, song
writing and endless talent from an array of artists that tick just about every musical box and
smash genre boundaries straight through the middle.

Kickstarting the LP with ‘Powerful,’ an aptly titled track that features the unmistakeably
energetic vocals of Hannah Williams, Boca starts from the very beginning, the track that
started it all back in January. Since then he’s weaved his way in and out of some seriously
impressive collaborators. The Heavy’s Swaby, up and comer Ash The Author, Alison Garner and Craig G all add their own distinguished and inimitable vocal hooks to Scott’s
effortlessly cool hip-hop foundations.
A true master of his craft, Boca has been blending
vintage tones with innovative experimentations for 20 years plus now and he finds a way to
keep things fresh time and time again. On his 2020 Donuts project, he added:
“I was plotting and recording 2020 Donuts mid-2019 and obviously had absolutely no
idea that my life and all of our lives would be dramatically changed 1 year later by a
pandemic!”
“Five 45 singles were manufactured every other month from Feb sold via my channels
and each one sold out in super quick time, so the 2020 LP is the perfect way to hear
the full set together in its entirety, top and tailed with 2 extra unheard tracks
Strawberry Hill & Donuts. This is my 5th full LP following on from last years "Forty Five" i'm
really proud of it – I hope you enjoy the Donut ride.”
It’s now something of the norm for Boca 45 to be working with a who’s who of global talent.
His last album was released on Mass Appeal (home of Nas, J Dilla, DJ Shadow, Run the
Jewels amongst many others), and his versatile sound often results in collaborating with a
range of talent from across the globe. More recently those artists include; Sergio Pizzorno
(Kasabian), MC Emskee and Louis Baker on his critically acclaimed single ‘Soul On Top.’
Bringing the studio to the stage, Boca’s eccentric and eclectic jukebox of sounds and styles
have graced some of most prestigious venues in the world too, including Glastonbury,
Boardmasters
