Language Systems by Bradfield Dumpleton

Further explorations into the more abstract/psychedelic ambient atmospheres that emerged/sprouted like mushrooms as I worked on the Bill Laswell/Adrian Sherwood-inspired "dub" experiments of the last three albums, in particular the i! album.

Somehow travels led me from 80s On-U-Sound System to the origins of german electronic rock. Both musics used combinations of organic intstrumentation and primitive electronic sounds, and a DIY ethic that appealed to me because I could also DIM.

Some ways I could describe these pieces:

A continuing process of impulse / response between myself and sounds as they happen. A jazz thinking, perhaps.

Musically mercurial, expansive yet primitive, reaching into / out of Space like the folded realities in 2001 A Space Odyssey.

Sonic mobiles in which dangling moments of sound & texture gently nudge each other into unexpected musics.

Musicollage, live improvisations, electronically sculpted sounds, domestic noises, loose internal pulses, atmospheres that eddy into themselves.

A great reason to lie down somewhere really comfortable with your favourite headphones and ride the carpet somewhere...
