137 Riddle from Therapy by Brendan Eder Ensemble
When I sketched the main repeating idea for this piece, I found 137 bpm to just the write tempo. My temp title for the piece became 137 "Riddle." When I returned to the piece months later the number kept sticking out to me. I decided to look it up and was dumbfounded by the results.
It turns the number is what theoretical physicists call "the most important number in the world" and it's also associated with the Kabbalah as far back as the 12th Century.
In short this fell right into the themes I'd been researching and gaining inspiration from while making the album. Things like the threshold between the physical and spiritual, Near Death Experiences, and Theosophical artwork.
