Floating in the lifting heights
I tried my best, didn’t I?
Arms stretch back in dying light
Crack open the cradled mind

Gently sink into this spell
Hands of roots support the spine
A bed of thorns, bone and shell
Knowledge of us all entwined

Worn and frayed, this final thread
This earthly body that I shed
Arms of heaven, arms of hell
Just lay me down right where I fell

Ancient, it’s always been
Shakes and twists to break free
Float skyward from within
Escape reality

Glowing specks taking shape
Form the wings that carry me
Beauty in what we were
And what will always be

Worn and frayed, this final thread
This earthly body that I shed
Arms of heaven, arms of hell
Lay me down where I fell

Transmutation, death and birth
We’ll split and fall unto the earth
Release a smile, let go of pain and
Laugh as we become the rain
