Someone approached me online to make some music for their popular livestream productions. Long story why but I said no. I ended up having the ideas for the music anyway, and this album is the result, embracing ambient glitch and gestural compositions…
The emotional sensitivity surprised me a little bit, too, but it makes sense given it was created in a blurry time during the third UK coronavirus lockdown in the depths of an icebound winter that didn’t seem to stop. Cold and dark, cooped up at home, I really needed to feel space…
‘Gesture’ tracks were completely spontaneous, live performed and created in a few hours each. Artefacts, clicks and unexpected sounds have been kept in, sometimes re-sampled and amplified. I spent a long time learning new stuff and designing sounds, and I think (hopefully) it paid off…
