Charlie from Apartments by Built Like Alaska
Charlie was Richard's brother. He was caretaker of the oddfellows cemetery until he got too old to do the physical labor. He fought in WWII on a navy ship. He often painted pictures from memory of the places he'd been. He was a pretty good painter. He wasn't as lighthearted as his brother and resented Richard's warnings about being a sucker for women. He had these two sisters that hung around his apartment. They were his "girlfriends" but, really they just siphoned his pension just to stay supplied in Marlboros and Mad Dog 20/20. They disappeared as soon as his money was gone.
