Along with being a wannabe drummer, wannabe singer and wannabe guitarist, I always wanted to be in a band or group. Shunned House afforded me that opportunity. It started around 2004 when I meet CJ at a music store. He had just moved to the area and was interested in us recording music. It was CJ who came up with the name Shunned House. A reference to a creation by one of his favorite authors HP Lovecraft. It was also not a coincidence that CJ actually lived in a shunned apartment, the size of a closet practically. This shunned apartment was haunted in nature, something that could be highlighted on the TV show “Ghost Hunters” or anything paranormal. One cannot overstate the dreary living conditions here. Somehow CJ still thrived, at least artistically in this dwelling from hell.
