Catharsis by Candle

Perhaps my most personal music to date, Catharsis is the 11th Studio Album by Canadian Experimental Rock Musician, Candle. The album features seven tracks that were improvised & recorded live-to-tape in single takes for the 2021 edition of February Album Writing Month (www.fawm.org). The songs explore themes of darkness, depression, loneliness, sanity & liberation, using minimal orchestration in order to capture the emotion of each performance.

Incidentally, that last comment was the one that crystalized this album in my mind. It was then that I realized that the exercise of improvising these songs was my own personal catharsis - finally allowing me to address some of the darkness that has haunted me since my youth.
