Hopeless X by Carl Gene
The album “Hopeless” was originally released in March of 2015 under my previous moniker, “Naked”. This record became a really pivotal point in my discography, and the reception was really overwhelming. I met a lot of incredible people, and got to play some really insane shows. I am so thankful for everyone that has stuck around over the years, and truly look back at that time fondly. Big thank you to Daniel Schultz of /APNEICVOID/ for believing in me, and helping with the original release.
“Hopeless X” is a ten year anniversary re-recording of the album “Hopeless”. A lot of the lyrics and song structures have changed over the past decade, and this release is a reflection of that. Included are six of the original nine songs, and two bonus tracks. “Death’s Embrace” is a brand new song I have been working on for a while, and I re-recorded “Naked”, the very first song I ever wrote for this project.
“Hopeless X” was recorded in December of 2024, and January of 2025 in Baltimore, MD, and Mastered by Keith Higgins in January of 2025. “Hopeless” was originally written between the months of March and December of 2014.
