our brains under construction
we start making adjustments
the moon is a spotlight
on all of our bad ideas
sludge along the country side
the golden mountains of hell
they look so stunning in the distance
and god knows how long til i'll feel well

dodging trains like our responsibilities
a journey lead by love and fueled by hate
our untamed hearts gave us wanderlust
and danger will end up our fate

and maybe one day you'll notice
why i still vibe with you
i want you to be rational
and we can look at this past and see we pushed through
i want us to be together
but i don't know if i can make that true

the owls see us and shake their heads
but no one ever starts out wise
dissociate to look down on myself
