SOUL TUNE by Cheap Fix
After blowing a hole in the world’s eardrums with their debut single “Re-animator Blues” on Goodbye Boozy, Cheap Fix doubles down, flinging their second single in six months at the garage rock masses like a gauntlet thrown.
“Soul Tune” is a James Arthur screamer, with a breakneck propulsion that manages not to trample all over the meaty hook at its core.
The flip side, “Dead Mouth,” is a country death march, drenched in reverb and errant slide guitar. The perfect comedown from the throttle-wrenching frenzy of the A-side.
If you were planning on leaning back and relaxing this weekend, those plans are over. No amount of Xanax can stave off the frenzy unleashed by a new Cheap Fix release. So go ahead and get rowdy. Get messy. Get dangerous. Because now you've got the perfect soundtrack.
