Kaleidoscopes: Demos by Chris Catalyst
For the first time, I'm putting the closely-guarded demo versions of the tracks out. This is STRICTLY FOR NERDS, ANORAKS AND MASSIVE KEENOS ONLY!
I count myself in the above list - that's why I felt like sticking these out cheaply, for a laugh. The sound quality is poor, the playing is bad, the guitars are out of tune. The vocals are... scratchy. The drums are LAUGHABLE. But just picture me sitting with me keyboard on my knee and Rose under my feet and you'll get the idea.
It's interesting to me to hear the gestation of the ideas - how some of the songs were pretty fully formed at demo stage (Make Good Art, The Fall/Ride) and what went through a lot of changes (Ordinary, Happy).

Everything played badly by me... drums tapped out to a click in Adobe Audition on my Yamaha PSR-300 keyboard that I got for Christmas in 1990. Guitars and bass all through the Kemper. Vocals done (usually very quietly) in my bedroom.
