Trees are hella fascinating
Among the grey they're green
With cobwebs on the outside and they're crawling
With the critters they've got in them

Did you know that rats live in the trees?
So when you cut the trees down in your yard
The rats escape to your house
One of them dies in the vents
The whole place starts to smell like death and
It wasn't the death of that mouse
I think it's the stench of a tree that's gone too soon

I can't breathe
The Amazon is burning
The red flames burn to ash
For all your useless lifeless green
I miss the trees
I don't know what to do and I'm sorry

I am just a bird
Singing songs up on a branch
The kids playing down below
They learn the things that I forget
What do I know?
I'm just a bird
