CYCLES / 01 is RIBS drummer Chris Oquist's first solo release, a collection of four meditative tracks that blur the lines between ambient, IDM, orchestral music, and noise, recorded live without sequencing, that push synthesizers to the edges of expressivity.

Oquist's work, written and recorded using electronic and acoustic instruments ranging from synthesizers and drone machines to bowed electric bass to found noise, triangulates the space between experimental electronic music, classical, and sound art, exploring themes of reflection, disintegration, and temporality.

Chris Oquist is a composer and multi-instrumentalist best known as the drummer of Brooklyn-based electronic rock duo RIBS.
