Horizon from Athaza by Chris Prophet

Just as I hit the half-way mark writing Athaza, I started worrying whether I could write a new song from scratch because most of the songs on this album were written years ago.

So to prove a point to myself I started writing Horizon. It's a song where I just told myself to have fun while writing a brand new song that wasn't influenced by any external sources.

I guess that's why it has a slightly happier sound to it than most of my other songs

Basically self-taught, I developed my skills by learning and applying techniques from other guitarists and musicians I was inspired by.

Having no formal background in music theory I firmly believe that once I become aware of the many rules of music, I will become bound by them, and be afraid of going where my emotions guide me.
