i don't really feel like anything i see
is even real
it's all a mystery to me
i would rather get to know
anything or anyone
that's stuck down below
everything that we thought we didn't know

i would rather see the truth
even when it's looking away from me
and staring right down at you
and i really feel
like this all dissolves into
something we thought we never knew

so you ask me
do i wonder why
we look at the sky
and we are left here to die
by some unforgiving god
wanting to find peace
in all these tragedies
that were created
that were instigated
from everything below
that we didn't think that we
would ever know
man i tell you
i'm afraid to go
back into that deep and wild
and terrifying fragile unkown
can you tell me everything i've ever known
should it be thrown
right out that window

i would rather see the truth
when it's looking right at me
and it refuses to look right back at you
