Rust by Churlish Louts

I just received a copy of the new CD “Churlish Louts, Rust”. I must say up front that I have never in my life found a collection of songs more musically intriguing. I have worked with legendary performers, people on their way up the success ladder, people on their way down the success ladder, and people who never aspired to a ladder at all. So as the commercial says, “I know a thing or two because I’ve seen a thing or two”.
Back to the CD. I am not going to describe the music a “bluesy”. Even though that is a reasonably accurate description, it is a gross understatement. This CD is loaded to the gills with CLASSIC instrument voicing, vocal styling, and effects trickery that has been used in records since the beginning of forever. Those of you with extensive knowledge of music and music history will know what I am referring to when you hear it. Rick Starr, November 2017.
