Snakes Alive by Cinema Prague

This is the final album CP made. It was recorded in the twilight days of the band in 1997 but not released until 2009. It's the fifth recording and the fifth release - the only time those two factors line up for CP. This album probably best captures a middle ground between the energetic live endeavors of the bad, and the considered studio artistry that interested the trio. It's a great document of where the band were at at the time of their parting of ways.

Western Australian band Cinema Prague were active from 1986 to 1998. They made complex, energetic and adventurous music. Their strange music asks questions, and maybe sometimes even finds some answers. In equal measures spiky, expansive, minimal, chunky, rockophonic and always delivered with good humour and honesty. They are one of the most influential bands to emerge from the 90's WA underground.
