Flickering by Circa19 + Savina Yannatou

Συνδυάζοντας την χρήση αντικειμένων και κρουστών οργάνων με εκείνη του ακουστικού βιολιού και των ηλεκτρονικών εφέ, οι Circa19 δημιουργούν έναν ενοποιημένο ήχο παίρνοντας καθαρές αποφάσεις τη στιγμή της δημιουργίας.
Η συνεργασία τους με την διεθνή αυτοσχεδιάστρια Σαβίνα Γιαννάτου στο άλμπουμ "Flickering" έδωσε μια νέα κατεύθυνση στη δουλειά των Circa19, φέρνοντας στο προσκήνιο τη φωνή ως βασικό εκφραστικό μέσο. Μέσα από αυτή τη συνεργασία, το σύνολο ανέπτυξε μια πιο ανοιχτή και επικοινωνιακή προσέγγιση στον αυτοσχεδιασμό, συνδυάζοντας τη ζωντανή ενέργεια της Γιαννάτου με την υφή των ηλεκτρονικών και ακουστικών ήχων.
Το αποτέλεσμα είναι ένα άλμπουμ με έντονη ατμόσφαιρα και βάθος, όπου η φωνή, το βιολί και τα ηχοχρώματα των κρουστών συνυπάρχουν οργανικά, δημιουργώντας έναν ενιαίο και ζωντανό ηχητικό κόσμο.

Combining the use of objects and percussion instruments with that of the acoustic violin and electronic effects, Circa19 creates a unified sound by making clear decisions in the moment of creation.
Their collaboration with internationaly acclaimed improviser Savina Yannatou on the album "Flickering" gave a new direction to Circa19's work, bringing the voice to the foreground as a key expressive medium. Through this collaboration, the ensemble developed a more open and communicative approach to improvisation, combining Yannatou's lively energy with the texture of electronic and acoustic sounds.
The result is an album with intense atmosphere and depth, where the voice, violin and percussion timbres coexist organically, creating a unified and vibrant sound world.

Circa 19 was formed in Thessaloniki in the beginning of 2019.
With the combination of percussive instruments/objects and the sounds of the acoustic violin along with some
electronic effects, the duet is forming a unified sound by making clear choices in the moment of creation.
