The tavern walls were concrete and the floor was made of wood,
I tripped and nearly bust my skull.
Even though it was my birthday I wasn't feeling good,
I heard your voice from down the hall.
You helped me to my feet and then you offered me a drink
you told me that your name was "Bear."

The next day I went walking just to see what I could find,

I climbed that ancient staircase to alleviate my mind,
and who would be there but my bear?
