MudMilkLove by Emblema Angelico

It was 1991 when I started to trade tapes and letters with Patrick Parent, the headmaster of Red Neon Tapes. Patrick did not sell his releases: these precious cassettes could only be traded with other tape releases!! An aim very much welcomed by the E.A. collective. No Money involved was a great idea, indeed. Trades/Exchanges of zines/music productions were and still are a useful way to get to know other people who are into a totally DIY philosophy and way of working.

At the end of the 80s I discovered the Mail Art network and soon after that Copy Art. My dad had a photocopy machine in his studio and I started to experiment with various techniques to twist black and white images, it was love at first scan. Enlarging/reducing, overlapping, and sliding artworks became a joyful obsession!

At the end of 1992, Patrick invited the collective E.A. to release a cassette on his label. This was the first tape not to be released on Contaminated Productions (Raff`s zine&tape label). A few people involved in E.A. collected sounds and sonic expressions using different instruments and extracting sounds from different sources, eventually remixing all of it with some inspirational points: tribalism, esoteric magick, alien expressions and the pure deconstruction of musical ideas. I sent some of my copy-art experiments to Patrick and he chose 1 for the cover sleeve of this tape.
MudMIlkLove was released as c60 in March 1993. Red Neon Tapes sent this tape to many labels/musicians around the world and E.A. exchanged it with more distros and DIY labels.
It was first posted online as a digital copy on the blog Vita Ignes Corpus Lignum in January 2010 and then reposted on the blog 1000flights in May 2014.

At the end of 2023, I asked COdA fanzine to re-release this tape as a CD-r on their label and they proposed to do it with a pamphlet including copy-art works by E.A.!! Eventually, I selected a few old artworks, some of them unreleased, I made some new ones, included a Map Of Activities and wrote this introduction while COdA assembled the zine and developed some ideas behind it, becoming temporarily, another member of E.A. collective. What you have in your hands now is the final outcome of such collaboration.
