I'd not eat cheese before I went to bed.
If I were to carry the weight of the world on my shoulders
I'd first remove the chip.
It's simple preparation
it's simply common sense
to remove the splinters
before sitting on the fence
but when I look into your eyes
my sense just ups and flies
through the window
without checking if it's open

you make me tongue-tied
you tie my tongue in knots
you make my head spin
like a cerebral spinning top
you make my legs turn to jelly
my stomach does a belly flop
like the last bhaji in the deli
I wish that I'd been at the top
like the greengrocer's last bruised apple
I wish I'd been pick of the crop
but I know I'm the last turkey
in the Christmas butcher's shop
