HEARTFAKE by Collections of Colonies of Bees
We wrote a record in fall/winter of 2019. The plan was to iron out the songs and get them ready to record during a summer of live shows and festivals that we had booked by late 2019.
The universe, of course, had other ideas.
But, silver linings.
We pivoted, like everyone else did, and made music in another way. Instead of hammering out details together as we always have, during rehearsals and live performances, we hammered out the details via zoom meetings and file sharing.

Everyone did their thing. Files were lost, files were added. New parts were made, old parts were forgotten. We all recorded at our houses, and while we were technically apart as we recorded this song, we came together musically as we have always done. It was a different path that we had planned to travel to get here, but we couldn’t be happier with where we landed. We hope you like it as well. We’ll make a record like we planned to when we can, but until then, we might do a couple more songs like this.
